Cyber Security Engineer
Strengthen cybersecurity across medical devices and cloud platforms while improving epilepsy care. Join a collaborative team where your expertise helps protect patients and build trust.
Strengthen cybersecurity across our medical devices, cloud platforms and digital solutions
At UNEEG Medical, we are on a clear mission: improve epilepsy care and enhance patients' quality of life through objective, real-world EEG data. UNEEG EpiSight Solution, our sub-cutaneous EEG monitoring solution enables remote monitoring of brain activity in people with uncontrolled epilepsy and is already making an impact across Europe and the US. We combine the agility of a small company with the high standards of the medical device industry.
Your role and team:
We are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer who will strengthen cybersecurity and information security across UNEEG Medical's products, cloud platforms and supporting infrastructure. You will help ensure that our solutions are developed, deployed and operated securely as we grow in the US healthcare market and continue to support customers across Europe.
You will be part of Technology (R&D) and act as UNEEG Medical's cybersecurity subject-matter expert. Working closely with Product Management, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Operations, Clinical Operations and Commercial, you will embed security throughout the product lifecycle, manage cyber risks and support customer and regulatory security requirements.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Identify, assess and manage cybersecurity risks across products, cloud platforms and corporate systems
Define and maintain cybersecurity controls, policies, standards and procedures
Support secure-by-design practices, security reviews and threat modelling throughout product development
Assist the software team in vulnerability management, security monitoring and incident response, including root-cause investigations and remediations.
Translate standards as ISO 27001, NIS2, IEC 81001-5-1, HIPAA, GDPR into a set of pragmatic standard operating procedures for UNEEG Medical to follow in order to be cyber security compliant.
Maintain security documentation, risk assessments and evidence for audits and regulatory submissions
Support cybersecurity requirements for medical devices and US healthcare market access
Advise internal teams and support customer security questionnaires, risk assessments and cybersecurity discussions
Promote cybersecurity awareness and collaborate with external security partners and auditors
You will thrive in this role if you:
Combine solid technical expertise with a practical, hands-on and collaborative mindset
See security as an enabler and help teams create secure solutions rather than acting as a gatekeeper
Take ownership of risks and remediation activities and follow issues through to completion
Are structured and document decisions, actions and evidence systematically
Can communicate complex security topics clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Enjoy working across disciplines and continuously improving security practices
Your background:
A bachelor's or master's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, software engineering, IT infrastructure or a related field; equivalent practical experience may substitute formal education
At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, information security, infrastructure security or cloud security
Experience with FDA cybersecurity requirements for medical devices
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure security services and cloud security architecture
Experience with vulnerability management, security monitoring and incident response
Knowledge of identity and access management, network security, endpoint security and secure system architecture
Familiarity with cybersecurity risk management frameworks and standards
Fluent professional English, both written and spoken
It will be an advantage if you have experience with:
MedTech, healthcare IT, SaaS or other regulated environments
ISO 27001, NIS2, IEC 81001-5-1, HIPAA, GDPR or similar frameworks
DevSecOps and secure software development lifecycle practices
Penetration testing management and security assessments
Kubernetes, container security or cloud-native architecture
Relevant certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, AZ-500, Security+, SC-100 or equivalent
